While his client's cars were setting National records throughout Australia, Garry was setting records of his own with the "Doorslammer" class race car that he built and campaigned in his spare time.
Since moving to the United States in 1987, Garry has worked closely with owner/mentor Bob Brooks at AFT, Inc. He has been responsible for building the clutches and fuel management products for the entire AFT customer base, including: John Force, Alan Johnson, Eddie Hill, Shirley Muldowney, Doug Herbert, Joe Amato and many others. During the 90's, nearly all the fuel teams in the sport of drag racing have utilized the AFT lock-up clutch built and repaired by Garry.
Aside from his work with AFT, he has worked as a field consultant for many successful Top Fuel and Funny Car teams. His work as acting crew chief for several Pro Fuel teams has won him the NHRA "Crew Chief of the Race" Award a total of three times.
Garry feels that he has been very lucky in all of his racing endeavors to meet and make friends around the World.
